Lifelong
Louf debuts on Mesh with a new 10-track album, Lifelong, out Friday 11th December on all digital streaming platforms.

The co-founder of Valby Rotary, Louf’s music seamlessly travels between club music, improvisation, electronica, and ambient synth. On Lifelong, he delves further into complex drum programming and generative sequences, building vast, emotive progressions and dramatic chord patterns. Written in the leadup to Louf’s wedding, the album and its titles refer to both the lifelong commitment of marriage and the pull of distant, imagined worlds; concepts that seem separate, but are painted here with the same brush. From cosmic abstraction to club-ready beats, the album unfolds as an ever-expanding story.

Opening track ‘Love Letter’ lets romantic swirls build into a frenzied rush of emotion, setting the tone for what’s to come. On ‘Feldspar’, glitches of sound cascade up and down, driven forwards by skeletal drums. ‘Fall’ flies even higher, with glistening melodic phrases softly swinging over IDM breaks. On ‘Loomstate’, the faintest vocal calls punctuate ambient, textural electronica at 140bpm. ‘Exoplanet Theme’ offers a brief but powerful pause in the form of an outerplanetary interlude. Leaning further into the unknown, ‘Ember Twin’ is a chorus of malfunctioning computers. ‘Get Home’ is a serene cut of future garage where sweeping harmonies run alongside shuffling percussion. ‘High Strangeness’ dips briefly back into outer space for a wander across an abandoned planet. ‘The Way The Leaves Fall’ floats across liquidy textures for an uplifting, stargazing roller. Ending the journey in an inspired tone, ‘Enjoy It For Both Of Us’ is a meditative, weightless drift through a blissful empty space.

Looking at intimacy and infinity as two parts of the same whole, Lifelong finds inspiration in an endless galaxy of electronic landscapes.

‘Lifelong’ lands Friday 11th November via Mesh.
